TERMS OF REFERENCE For The Appointment of a Service Provider for The Review of The Estuarine Management Plan (EMP) For The Orange

Opportunity

To appoint a Service Provider to review the Orange River Mouth estuary Estuarine Management Plan (EMP).
The development of the EMP is required in terms of Chapter 4, Section 34 of the National Environmental Management: Integrated Coastal Management Act, 2008 (Act 24 of 2008) (“Act”) and the National Estuarine Management Protocol (“the Protocol”) as the guiding document for the development and implementation of the EMPs. Furthermore, the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE) has developed a holistic and inclusive “Guidelines for the development and implementation of Estuarine Management Plans” (EMPs) to supplement the Protocol in providing clear procedures and guidance to the responsible management authority who develop and coordinate the implementation of EMPs.
