Fundraising for the Lesotho-Botswana Water Transfer Project
The L-BWT scheme will supply water to Botswana, Lesotho and South Africa from the Makhaleng Dam – part of the Lesotho Lowlands Water Supply Scheme – through a 700 km water conveyance pipeline from Lesotho, through South Africa, to Botswana.
€3.42 million grant funding for outstanding feasibility studies related to the dam and conveyancing pipeline.
Fundraising drive is taking place at the 2018 Stockholm World Water Week, from 26-31 August 2018, with the support of the Climate Resilient Infrastructure Development Facility (CRIDF), the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) and the Global Water Partnership - Southern Africa (GWP-SA).
